FAQ
Q: What software do you use for music production?
A: I typically use FL Studio, always the latest version.
Q: Do you use any physical equipment? (i.e. MIDI Keyboards, Controllers,
etc.)
A: No, not for the time being, I've always used keyboard and mouse. The
only things I bought that benefitted me the most is my pair of
headphones, the Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro 250 Ohms, and the audio
interface I use, the Komplete Audio 1s. I also have a cheap condenser
microphone I bought in 2017 (not sure if they're still manufacturing it
now because there's so many similar copies available), but I barely use
it to record vocals and more-so use it for speaking in calls or
recording voiceovers.
Q: What software do you use for your covers/art?
A: I use the latest version of Photoshop. If I'm doing video visuals,
then usually the latest version of Premiere Pro.
Q: Can I use your music for x project/Twitch stream/YouTube video?
A: Of course! Though, it's highly recommended that you credit my work,
and if you're using it for a stream, feel free to have the song
displayed in the overlay or something similar. I have disabled Content
ID on all of my songs and allowed Twitch to have my music played, so I
don't think you should have an issue with copyright problems or VOD
mutes.
Q: How long does it take to create a song/album?
A: For songs, it varies. Sometimes it's 8-12 hours within a span of a
few days up to a week, 6-7 on a single weekend, or sometimes even 4-5 in
roughly 2 days. It depends with what I want to go for in a song and how
big of a project it is.
For albums though, I always try to get one out every single year, so I
dedicate each month into the writing and production process until the
next year. Afterwards, I try to adjust the right song order for the
tracklist, make art and visuals, promotions/teasers, and then the
announcement. I never have deadlines when it comes to albums/EPs in
general, as I want to work at my own pace and release it whenever I feel
it's 100% ready.
Q: Favourite projects you have made so far/are proud of?
A: The
BLUE WORLD EP has to be one of my favourites of all time, as it
still continues to be my most vibrant and fun project to date. For me,
it still holds up to this day after years of it being up and I aim to
make more like it in the near future. Every track was very fun to work
on and reflects a brighter time in my life. It's also the very first
project I used to sell CDs on my own through a manufacturer.
Singles on the other hand, it goes to either
LoveEnergySugardust /
Belrose as it came out a month after BLUE WORLD and I was in a trance of
making even more jumpy tunes with the theme of love, or GrindSquare² as
it has this atmosphere that I wanted to achieve and created great
visuals for on YouTube. It's very hard for me to choose my all-time
favourites, but I found my more recent ones to be my best as I greatly
developed my sound over the years.
As for albums, it has to be either "
everything is fine." or "
hollow
being. feeling whole.", with "
all things good & bad" being a close 3rd.
Those two albums perfectly reflect points in my life where I felt that I
was at my lowest and captures what I was going through at the time. I
cherish them deeply and I still get comments/messages from listeners
that those albums impacted them as well, which I am eternally grateful
for.
Honourable mentions: My remix of
My Plague by Slipknot, the
Nimbasa CORE
remix (originally by pLasterbrain), and the
VERTIGOAWAY MEGAREMIX.
Q: Will you collab with x artist?
A: I'm not really in touch with a lot of artists who are willing to work
with me to be honest, nor am I personally familiar with most of the ones
I'm interested in. I've gotten offers from artists who wanted to, but
after exchanging stems and ideas, none came to fruition sadly.
Personally, I'd like to work with people I'm familiar/already friends
with as I feel there'd be good chemistry compared to an artist that I
barely know either in general or who don't know me all that well.
Therefore, a chance of collaborating with someone is rare and have only
done an official one once.
Q: Would you do commission work?
A: I'd like to eventually, but I'm very unfamiliar with how it all
works. Plus I also feel like I wouldn't be so good at coming up with
ideas on the spot if a client is expecting a fast delivery. I'm not
ready to have this huge responsibility, but I'd also like to give back
to my supporters in some way.
Q: Will there be a new podcast episode?
A: Honestly, I'd love to make another podcast episode with an artist,
but because my life + mental state took a huge detour in late 2022, I
found it hard to find the motivation to gather new guests and bring
myself to record. I also have a lack of guests nowadays because I
completely isolated myself from the music community during my personal
low points. Nowadays though, I'm feeling a lot better and I'm hoping
that I'll gather myself to record more episodes, they were all fun to do
at the time and everyone I've spoken to personally have been very
awesome :)
