"dedicated to a special friend of mine." - Bandcamp description.
After releasing a few singles in August and September ('promiseyoullbehere' and 'code:stigmata') while still being in the worst state I've been, I decided to put out a remix of one of Sadness' songs from the "I want to be there" album.
My music taste was fluctuating a little at that time mood-wise, but Sadness became one of my favourite depressive black metal solo acts. The description makes it a bit obvious why I made it and who it was for, and lo and behold, I think this was the first time I ever made someone shed tears uncontrollably. Goes to show just how intense things have been with me and the people around me. It seems that a lot of people who've listened to it share that same sentiment.
This remix is nothing more but a DnB/Break rework of the song, but with added melodies and a much more somber, yet uplifting mood.
I was a month into my second final year of school when I made this, stressed out of my mind and depressed to all hell. So many different things were affecting me one after another each day, making me become more and more unstable. Looking back on songs like this during that time reminds me of how bad things were, and it makes me appreciate just how better things have become these days.
