I'll admit, talking about this remix in particular is tough due to the amount of bad memories it brings whenever I try to recall what brought me to make this remix in the first place. As the description suggests, I was in a terrible spot throughout the entirety of August 2022, for many interpersonal reasons. It was the first time that I fell into a deep, proper depression that would last for a very long time.
During that time, I was listening to my friend, purity://filter, and her short album "imago(ii)" along with some of her other releases at that time resonated with me a lot. A week prior, I was inspired to do 2 demo tracks of similarly sounding hexd trance music she was doing, which are now in the 'demos 2021-2022' compilation. Up until that point, I did a remix of one of her songs while I was in an absolute state of pain and heartache to pass the time, and I got it done within 5 hours in a single day.
It was a drastic change of tone in my releases, with the 'LoveEnergySugardust / Belrose' single having a much lighter tone. There was a lot that happened that I won't go into, and I did not want to fake an emotion that I was not feeling at all for the sake of consistency. This remix would be the first time I expressed any sort of raw emotion, and that would become a reoccurring theme in my later releases.
That being said, I would like to thank Carrie (purity) for helping me during that time, even when everything was falling apart for me. I can't appreciate her and her support enough, she didn't have to do that at all.
